科学誌 Natureには、数多くの姉妹誌が存在します.
姉妹誌には、nature + ??? の名前がついており、natureほどのインパクトファクターはないものの、十分な影響力のある科学誌です.
今回はnature 姉妹誌のうちの一つ、 nature communications のArticleフォーマットについてまとめました(2021年4月). ここには概要しかまとめておらず、抜けもあります.より詳しく知りたい人は本家様へ Article以外を出したい方はこちらを参照ください。
Nature含めその他の姉妹誌とNature communicationsの関係
Nature communicationsは独立した編集体制を持つ --> 筆者がどの誌に出すかを決める。editorによって配分されるわけではない.
Nature Communications is editorially independent, and its editors make their own decisions, independently of the other Nature journals.
ただし、姉妹誌の間でtransferすることは可能(transfer serviceがある).
...In cases where manuscripts are rejected from Nature Communications, authors may wish to use the same manuscript transfer service to submit their paper to Communications Biology, Communications Chemistry, Communications Physics (as appropriate), Scientific Reports or other in-house journals.
フィーマット
Title : 可能ならば15 wordsまたはそれ以下 .
Authors : Corresponding author(s)はアスタリスクマークをつける
Abstract: 150 wordsまで. referenceは含まない. テクニカルな表現は避ける.
Main text : Abstract, methods, references, figure legendsは含まない. 5,000 wordsまで. 詳細は後述.
Figure legends : 各 Figure legends につき350 words. 最初に短いタイトルをつける.
References : 70文献以下.参照の仕方とReferenceの書き方はNatureと同様.
Footnotes :つけない.
Main text について
各項目に見出しをつける.
Introduction --> Results --> Discussion --> Methods と続ける.

Results
小見出しをつける
Discussion
簡潔にまとめる. 小見出しをつけることは推奨していない.
Methods
小見出しをつける. だいたい3000 words.
Figures/ Tables
FigureとTable合わせて10まで. 目安として2,000 wordsの本文に対して4 figures/ tables. * RGB 300 dpi resolution
Data availability
タイトルは "Data Availability"とつける. accession numbersなどを全て書く.
